Oh hi there! First off, it's been about a month since I managed to get a Monday Musings up for you, so I'm sorry about that. Yikes, I feel like I'm spending my life apologising for stuff at the minute. I just haven't been able to find enough time or brain power or, if I'm honest, motivation to be super-productive recently, so THANK YOU for being so lovely and patient. I should be back on track soon so I really hope you'll bear with me! In return, I promise I'll stop apologising as well cos, let's face it, it's getting well boring.
I'll just get on with it, shall I?
1. Pretty Little Liars
Can someone please tell me why I've never watched this before? I started season 1 about a week and a half ago and I'm already pretty much finished season 2. Apparently I'm not so good at pacing myself. But SO addictive - it's got a bit of everything, sort of like The O.C. crossed with Gossip Girl crossed with... I dunno, something else. It's amazing, and if you haven't watched it yet you absolutely should. If you have, please let me know so we can talk about it all the time!
2. We Heart It
If you haven't ever used We Heart It, it's pretty much like Pinterest only with a tonne of different content already up there. I don't know about you, but because I've been on Pinterest for so long (it must be at least 6 years) I tend to find the same images pop up in my feed over and over again. And I've already pinned them. Maybe that means I pin too many images but hey, I like pinning, it makes me happy!
So We Heart It is very exciting to me because there's a whole load of different content to look at and lust after. It's sort of different to Pinterest because, whilst you can create 'collections' (which are basically the same thing as Pinterest boards) the We Heart It folks encourage you to make them into mood boards rather than specific categories. I don't do that, because I'm a bit mad, but it is cool because you don't have to 'heart' (same as 'pin') an image more than once to have it incorporated into different collections. One heart, and you can have it in as many collections as you like without feeling like you're spamming the whole world. So that's pretty cool.
For me, it's great fun again because, whilst I absolutely LOVE Pinterest, since changing over to a Business account I feel like I have to be a bit stricter with myself and pin content for 'my audience' (haha) rather than just what I want to pin. I'm quite good at that, though, so find me, stalk me, follow me and let's be friends, yeah?
If you too want something for a little change from Pinterest, I'd wholeheartedly recommend giving We Heart It a go.
3. Blog Comments
You guys. You make me so happy! The lovely comments people have been leaving for me, especially on this post, have given me all kinds of warm fuzzy feelings. I've been trying to make sure I leave comments on other blogs because it's just so lovely to read ones other people leave for me - I hope that I can brighten up someone else's day the way you're all doing for me! So keep 'em coming, it's so fab to feel like you enjoy reading some of my posts. You're all aces.
4. Bullet Journal
I CAVED IN. Call me a blogger cliche. And tell me that I'm about 6 months late to the party. I know all this. But I've just seen so many incredible looking journals whizzing around online that I've been won over. I'm also starting to really like the idea of having a completely versatile layout, as with blogging more and using more social media accounts, as well as having work and travel and erm my own life to cope with, I'm finding that traditional layouts really are starting to seem restrictive.
I ordered the official Bullet Journal edition of the Leuchtturm 1917 (which is available on Amazon here) because I figured what the heck, I might as well go the whole hog. Now it's not cheap, but when I think of how much I'll (hopefully) use it and how long it should last, it's not too much. You must remember that I'm the girl who got overexcited and bought a £100 trench coat last week, so let's keep things in perspective. I do have a reason for all the crazy spending, coincidentally - you'll find out why I've suddenly lost all concept of saving money when we get to point number 6!
5. NYX Lip Products
Another cliche, I'm afraid, and yet another example of me being very behind the times, but I bought some NYX lip products. Look out for a product review (because that's what the blogosphere needs) going live later this week!
6. House Hunting
OH MY GOD.
I can't go into too much detail here because I'll probably either have a complete mental breakdown or get done for libel. Maybe both. Following on from my last post, the one with the Japanese Knotweed, things got considerably worse.
Is it just me or would "The One With the Japanese Knotweed" not be an excellent title for an episode of Friends? I think maybe I've missed my calling in life as a screenwriter.
Anyway, it turns out that the surveyor not only thinks they've found that nasty plant, but also that they may have found damp and potential subsidence.
Oh, and just a casual bit of asbestos.
I GIVE UP.
Needless to say we ran screaming from that one, and now sadly we've completely run out of time to keep looking. Our summer holiday (from hell) is alas nearly over and it's pretty much time for me and my man to go back to our globetrotting ways, which isn't exactly conducive to house hunting. So it's all on hold for the time being, unless anybody wants to just give us theirs?
I'm still hoping that I'll win the lottery and just be able to buy a mansion. And pay somebody to fix it for me. That'd be nice.
So that's another week in the glamorous life of a well-dressed, immaculately made-up homeless person. Hope you enjoyed hearing about my ups and downs!
Before I go, I must say a HUGE thank you to you all for the lovely supportive comments and tweets you've sent me over the past couple of months. Every time I've had a house-based rant or moan or turned into a major stress-head, you've only had kind words for me and it really has made a massive difference - you've helped to keep me sane. Or about as sane as I ever get!
So thanks for being BABES. I owe you. Loves xx
